After serving 15 years as an IRS Agent, Aquila experienced a life-changing encounter with God that transformed her perspective on time, career, and purpose. This powerful moment of clarity led her to take a leap of faith—leaving behind the security of a government job to build a firm that would make a meaningful impact in the world of small business accounting and taxes.
In the early years, like many new ventures, Line Upon Line faced its share of challenges. But just three years in, Aquila received a divine vision: to reach and serve the underserved Hispanic community. Acting on that vision, she launched a targeted marketing effort that led to the hiring of the firm’s first sales and marketing representative—who, to this day, remains an integral part of our firm.

Driven by a passion to support self-employed entrepreneurs—particularly within his Latino community—Hugo joined Line Upon Line in 2003, bringing a strong background in bookkeeping and a natural talent for building client relationships. As a native Spanish speaker, he’s been instrumental in creating trust and connection with our Spanish-speaking clients. Since then, he has remained a cornerstone of our mission, consistently contributing to the excellence and integrity that define Line Upon Line.
